The implementation of communication systems and operation assistance for Metro Bilbao

Dominion designed and implemented the entire communications network for the Metro Bilbao line 2 from telephone connection, surveillance, radiotelephony and remote indicators to modern PA services, IP communications and fibre optics. The project began in 1999 and continues to this day with each of its different technologies being updated.

The design and implementation of telecommunication infrastructures on Metro Bilbao line 2, the first subway in the Basque Country, with cutting edge technology for high speed data transmission, for the interconnection of all the equipment installed both at stations and on trains, and for digital transmission systems for open and closed groups for all subway passengers.
Results
The Bilbao Metro is an international benchmark regarding aspects such as design, technology and safety. Currently, all the technological items are incorporated in a single network, including the PA system, lights, lifts, cameras, remote indicator systems, useful arrival time information and all the internal communication requirements of this Subway system.
