Climate change poses a global challenge, and it is our responsibility to take action_

With regard to environmental matters, particularly climate change and its impacts, our sustainability strategy is implemented through a transition plan, approved and overseen by DOMINION’s governing bodies. This plan is structured around three key areas:

  • Maximising the opportunities arising from the transition towards a more sustainable economy for our clients and society.
  • Mitigating climate change through a decarbonisation plan linked to science-based targets, including the responsible management of waste and our supply chain.
  • Continuously monitoring the company’s resilience to climate-related risks, while identifying emerging opportunities throughout the climate transition.

Regarding the first area, at DOMINION we calculate the share of our business activities that is aligned with the EU Taxonomy. We achieve high levels of alignment, demonstrating our commitment to supporting our clients in their transition towards a sustainable economy, greater energy efficiency, climate change mitigation and a circular economy.

We are also strongly committed to decarbonisation and to closely monitoring our environmental impact and carbon footprint. Every year, we calculate our carbon footprint across all three scopes and certify it in accordance with ISO 14064. However, our commitment goes beyond measuring our footprint: we are actively working to reduce it. To this end, we have developed an ambitious decarbonisation plan with targets fully aligned with the benchmarks of the Paris Agreement and the goal of limiting global warming to 1.5°C, validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).

Finally, to assess the company’s resilience to climate change, we conduct an annual analysis of physical and transition risks, as well as the opportunities arising from climate change, following the guidelines of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), the recommendations of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) and our Enterprise Risk Management Framework. The results enable us to rule out material climate-related risks in the short term.

All these aspects are independently verified each year by the auditors of our Sustainability Report and assessed as part of our CDP disclosure.
